Hi! My name is Anne and I'm a chocolatier. In the past, I have studied microbiology, been an environmental scientist, and been a full time mom. Several years ago my husband gifted me with a class learning to make chocolates and I was hooked!
After completing an Ecole Chocolat Professional Chocolatiers program and after lots of practice, I finally got the courage to move from a hobby to a business and start The Chocolate Palette in 2018.
It's now been five years since I started this business! I started slowly with just minimal equipment and now I've invested in a tempering machine and an enrobing belt. Three years ago I also converted a large guest bedroom in our basement to a full commercial kitchen. At every opportunity, I try to figure out how to improve my processes to be more efficient and produce more chocolates. I've also invested in improving my skills by taking several classes from master chocolatiers and studying their cookbooks like my grade depends on it!
The growth we've had in the past few years wouldn't be possible without all the help I've received from my husband and kids as well as the growing team of ladies who also contribute. Kerry does our graphic design, Alicia does the bookkeeping, and Alison and Anna both help with everything from dishwashing to packaging boxes and so many other tasks. I am so thankful these ladies and I couldn't do it without them!
I still love the science, art, and flavors that go into artisan truffles. I love the challenge of working with an exacting medium and trying to solve the problem when something goes wrong. I also love providing a really special hand crafted treat for my customers. It has been a delight to get to know so many wonderful people over the past five years and to get to be a part of their celebrations and traditions (and even to provide a little bit of comfort and love during some very difficult times too). Thank you to my loyal customers for your continuous support over the years!
